On December 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Decree aimed at bringing export support measures in line with World Trade Organization provisions, the Ministry of Justice said.
In particular, the decree has lifted compensating exporters' expenses for road, air and rail transportation.
While, exporters will be provided with subsidies and compensation for all exports dating December 31, 2024. These payments will be made until February 1, 2025.
The decree took effect on January 1, 2025.
The new measures are aimed at creating a transparent export support system that meets international standards and Uzbekistan's obligations under the WTO.
In recent years, up to 50% of exporters' transportation costs had been compensated through government subsidies.
The budget for 2025 does not provide for subsidies for transport costs.
According to the 2025 State Budget Law, the benefits on profit tax and turnover tax for exporters and re-exporters adopted in 2019 will also be canceled from January 1, 2025.
