All types of oil products manufactured at the Bukhara Oil Refinery of Uzbekneftegaz, including gasoline, will be sold only through exchange trading under free market terms from January 1, 2025, the company's press service said.

"The issue of meeting the needs of the Uzbeks for gasoline is under state’s oversight, and all available resources are being used for this," the statement said.

Exchange trading will resume on January 3.

Reportedly, nowadays in Uzbekistan, practical steps are being taken to create an effective competitive environment in the goods and services markets, gradually reduce the monopoly, eliminate elements of the distribution system and ensure equal conditions for all business entities in access to financial and technical resources.

The Bukhara Oil Refinery produces AI-80, AI-91, AI-92, AI-95 gasoline (but mainly AI-80), aviation fuel, liquefied gas, diesel fuel, heating oil, technical sulfur, propane refrigerant, pyrolysis gasoline, hydrocarbon solvent.

It should be noted that according to the November 14, 2017 presidential decree has approved a list of highly liquid and (or) monopoly types of products, raw materials and materials, which, based on market principles, are sold only through exchange trading. This rule applies to monopoly enterprises and (or) legal entities with a state share of 50% or more.

This list includes 38 types of goods and raw materials, including gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied gas, heating oil, heating oil and others.
