Ahead of the Central Asia-European Union Summit in Samarkand, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov today met with the CEO of Air Products and Chemicals (USA) Eduardo Menezes, the press service of the Ministry said.
Laziz Kudratov emphasized the company's successful experience in Uzbekistan. Since 2019, Air Products and Chemicals has implemented three major investment projects with a total investment of $ 1.15 billion in the provinces of Uzbekistan, including hydrogen production unit at the Fergana Oil Refinery and liquid carbon dioxide production unit at Navoiazot.
Today, the company is implementing MTO (methanol to olefins) complex project in Bukhara and has already invested over $ 200 million. The complex will supply methanol and olefins for plastics production, automotive manufacturing and construction sectors.
The parties reviewed the new projects on carbon dioxide capture and storage, aviation fuel production and coal gasification.
