Russian LUKOIL on November 3 completed the 4.05 billion m3 of gas per year phase I of Gas Processing Plant (GPP) of Kandym fields group in Uzbekistan five months before the deadline, designed to process, UzA said.

At the same time, the construction phase II is currently underway to be completed in July 2018.

The 8.1 billion cubic meters throughput capacity Kandym Gas Processing Plant from the Kandym fields group in the Bukhara province will produce 7.9 billion cubic meters of purified natural gas in the amount of, 134.4 thousand tons of stable gas condensate, and 212.9 thousand tons of lumpy and granulated sulfur, with 2125 new jobs to be created.

LUKOIL has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2004 on the basis of a Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) since.

In November 2007, the company commissioned the 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas per year capacity Khauzak-Shady field, in May 2015 - the 2.1 billion cubic meters capacity Kuvachi-Alat and Severnoye Shady fields, in July 2017 year - the 5 billion cubic meters capacity Gissar fields group.

In 2018, from all fields within the framework of the PSA, it is planned to produce 14.7 billion cubic meters of gas. In total, since the commencement of the two PSAs, cumulative production amounted to 45 billion cubic meters of gas.

LUKOIL has invested a total of $6.5 billion for projects in Uzbekistan under the PSA terms.
