A new smelter furnace has been commissioned in metallurgical shop of copper smelter plant of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. According to AMMC, the start-up and commissioning works are currently ongoing.
The construction works were launched in 2015. The project foresaw the construction o "turnkey" basis of automatic smelter furnace with a 17 thous. ton of copper per year capacity immersion lance.
The $ 92 million worth contract was signed with the German company Dobersek Engineering. Funding was provided by a loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, AMMC’s own funds and bank loans.
