President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a trip to Surkhandarya province attended the commissioning of a cement plant owned by the foreign-owned Surkhoncementinvest in Djarkurgan district, the presidential press service said.
The Phase I of the US$ 144 million project has been completed. In design capacity, the plant will produce 1.1 million tons and export 750 thousand tons of cement per year, with 1,125 jobs created.
In the future, the plant plans to launch the production of dry construction mixtures, hydrated lime, reinforced concrete products by attracting over US$ 12 million in investment.
