22 people in Andijan province sustained acute poisoning from December 22-26 after they allegedly drank the so-called Uzbekistan Cognac, which had Uzbekistan excise stamps, the provincial prosecutor's office said.
UPD: 5 people did not survive the poisoning.
The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case. While, the preliminary investigation is being conducted by an investigation group, which is led by investigators from the provincial prosecutor's office and includes officers of the investigative department of the Police department and the provincial department of the Agency for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
