On May 26 Shavkat Mirziyoyev as part of his Shakhontokhur district trip visited the mausoleum and mosque of Suzuk-ota.

Suzuk-ota, born Mustafokul, lived in 1140-1217. He was the youngest son of Gavkhari Khustosh, the daughter of Ahmad Yassawi. Suzuk-ota brought up hundreds of students, taught crafts and taught his students to be honest. In the years 1363-1364, our great ancestor Amir Temur built a mausoleum and a mosque at the grave of Yassawi’s grandson Suzuka-ota.

In the years of independence, this sacred place was restored. More than five thousand people live in Suzuk-ota makhalla. Handicrafts, carpentry, carving have developed in the mahalla.

During the meeting with imams in the mosque President Mirziyoyev stressed that Islam is a religion of enlightenment, civilisation and scholarship, not of destruction, and that we should combat ignorance and fear with education and enlightenment.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking about his trip to Saudi Arabia to attend Arab Islamic American Summit, said that Uzbekistan fully supports this summit and is in total accordance with its aims to increase tolerance and coexistence, and to enhance security, stability and cooperation.

During the meeting with Tashkent city and districts mayors, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the public at the State Tax Committee. President Mirziyoyev made an address.

In his address he said that government officials should engage in permanent dialogue with ordinary people, which allows to solve their problems.

He drew attention to the creation of all necessary conditions for the people, creation of jobs, updating of utility systems, providing conditions for doing business and other urgent tasks.

Speaking about Uzbek nationals who have been radicalized Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan should try to rehabilitate these people who have succumbed to the siren voices of terrorism. This is something we need to pursue because we know we should not give up on those who have been led astray, but could still return to being useful members of society, he said.

He added that the relatives of those who have been radicalized should not be excluded from society, the wife or the child of a radical is not to blame, he told the meeting participants to have the courage to invite them to weddings or other events.
