President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 30 signed Improving Management System In Oil And Gas Industry Decree, the Presidency website said. In line with the document, UzbekNefteGaz, UzNefteGazQazibChiqarish, UzTransGaz, UzNefteprodukt and UzNefteGazMash shall all become joint stock companies. JSC UzGeoBurNefteGaz was renamed into JSC UzBurNefteGaz.

UzNefteGazGeologia is created within UzbekNefteGaz LLC, which will be responsible for timely and high-quality performance of geological exploration works with engaging service companies, ensuring the hydrocarbon extraction increase and discovering of new fields, their preparation and transfer for development to UzNefteGazQazibChiqarish subsidiaries.

UzNefteGazstroyInvest is being liquidated. UzGazEngineering LLC is renamed into JSC NefteGazstroy, and is assigned functions to coordinate the activities of construction companies that are part of UzbekNefteGaz.

In addition, NeftGazExport LLC is being created within UzbekNefteGaz, which will specialize in export of products of companies that are part of UzbekNefteGaz,.

A number of companies will be merged to, some are taken out from UzbekNefteGaz and its joint-stock companies as separate companies.

14 territorial branches of gas supply are created on the basis of 6 interregional unitary enterprises of UzTransGaz, and 15 regional organizations are being created in the form of LLC on the basis of 23 unitary enterprises of UzNefteprodukt, which sell petroleum products. While, the number of district and city gas supply branches, which will be converted into inter-district gas supply sections, as well as the number of low-profit facilities for the storage and sale of petroleum products will be optimized.

As a result of major reshuffle of UzbekNefteGaz and its joint-stock companies, it is planned to cut 12 thousand jobs.

UzbekNefteGaz will also be responsible for implementation of deep structural transformations in the oil and gas industry, raise the competitiveness of products, as well as for supplying oil and gas products to households.

JSC UzTransGaz is entrusted with the task of providing natural and liquefied gas to local consumers by improving the system of main gas pipelines and gas distribution networks, metering gas and getting payments for sold gas, for measures to reduce losses, unreasonable and irrational gas consumption, illegal connection to gas networks and gas theft.
