Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov hosted China’s Agriculture Minister Han Changfu and discussed cooperation in the agrarian sector Saturday.

Han Changfu conveyed greetings from the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang to the Uzbek PM. The Minister noted that during the recent One Belt and One Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, the leaders of the two states held fruitful negotiations. Changfu adde that his current visit is aimed at implementing the reached accords and promoting comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the agrarian sphere.

Han Changfu also expressed readiness for cooperation which is aimed at expanding Chinese investments in Uzbekistan’s agriculture and in bilateral trade in agroproducts, actively promote creation of agro-industrial parks. The sides considered the possibility of creation of a joint animal husbandry area, boost cooperation in the field of agricultural science and technology, step up humanitarian contacts, provide technological support and market space for joint development of agriculture in the two countries.

PM Aripov, in turn, underscored that the Uzbek government pays special attention to the development of agriculture. Uzbekistan is eager to study China’s experience, strengthen cooperation with China in such key areas as processing of agricultural products, cotton, aquaculture and silk farming and stimulate the agricultural export in order to raise farmers’ income.
