France-based EDF has secured a contract from UzbekEnergo to provide consultancy services for two new 450 MW each combined cycle thermal power units in the Syrdarya province, UzbekEnergo announced in a statement.
EDF will provide UzbekEnergo with consultancy on development of a feasibility study, basic design and tender for material supply for the turnkey construction of a TPP on the Construction Of a New Thermal Power Plant Consisting of Two 450 MW Combined Cycle Units in Syrdarya Province Project.
The estimated project cost is $ 910 million, including $ 500 million worth of foreign loans.
The construction of a new TPP will be carried out as part of the UzbekEnergo’s Power Industry Development Strategy for 2015-2019.
