Delegation of ExxonMobil is expected to arrive in Uzbekistan either in October or November to sign accords on cooperation in oil and gas projects.
"Negotiations with ExxonMobil are at the initial stage, the visit of the company's leadreship to Uzbekistan is expected in October or November when a number of accords on cooperation may be signed, a source in UzbekNeftegaz said, adding that preliminary agreements with ExxonMobil were reached during Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the US.
During the visit of the high-ranking officials of the US company it is planned to discuss the involvement of ExxonMobil in geological exploration in promising oil and gas fields in Uzbekistan, as well as projects to increase the oil and gas extraction in the fields with decreasing production.
The Government of Uzbekistan also plans to invite the American company to invest in a project for production of polyester at one of the oil refineries, the source added.
