Between January and April 2026, Uzbekistan's total imports reached $16.4 billion. While machinery and transport equipment accounted for the largest share of these imports, food products registered the fastest growth rate.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee, the country imported $5.5 billion worth of machinery and transport equipment during the first four months of the year. This represents a 29.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Other major categories in the import structure included industrial goods at $2.5 billion (+17.1%), chemicals and related products at $2.0 billion (+22.6%), and food products and live animals at $1.9 billion (+47.2%).

Additionally, service imports accounted for $1.6 billion (+15.5%), while mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials totaled $1.4 billion (+25.8%).

The remaining imports consisted of miscellaneous manufactured articles at $585.7 million (+34.6%), non-food raw materials (excluding fuel) at $464.8 million (+34.5%), animal and vegetable oils, fats, and waxes at $217.7 million (+37.3%), and beverages and tobacco at $100.5 million (+24.3%).

Statistical data underscores that the sharpest surge occurred in the import of food products and live animals, which skyrocketed by 47.2% compared to the previous year.
