Uzbekistan delegation led by Deputy PM Nodir Otadjonov will visit Belarus on December 19-21, to attend the fifth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IC) on bilateral cooperation between the countries, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

The sides are expected to discuss and agree measures aimed at boosting trade and economic ties, industrial and agriculture cooperation transport, health, tourism and supply of machineries, as well as deepening of cooperation between regions and businesses of Uzbekistan and Belarus.

Following the meetings and talks the sides are scheduled to sign the MOM and roadmap for boosting bilateral ties in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres for 2017-2018,"

A positive trend of bilateral trade and economic cooperation is observed this year. In January-October of 2017, two-way trade amounted to US$ 97.4 million, almost doubling compared to the last year, of which the Belarusian exports amounted to US$ 70.4 million.

In November, the Belarussian PM Andrei Kobyakov visited Uzbekistan with a two-day working visit, and he suggested to sign bilateral agreement on trade and economic cooperation at the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting.
