Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in January-July amounted to US$ 17.8 billion, of which exports - US$ 7.6 billion, imports - US$ 10.2 billion, recording trade deficit of US$ 2.5 billion, the Statistics Committee reported.
Export items:
- services - 22.2% (US$ 1.7 billion, an increase by 20.3% compared to the same period last year);
- energy and oil products - 19.2% (US$ 1.5 billion, an increase by 72%);
- food items - 8.7% (US$ 662.4 million, an increase by 58.1%);
- chemical products and products from it - 6.9% (US$ 530.6 million, an increase by 4%);
- ferrous and non-ferrous metals - 6.6% (US$ 502.6 million, an increase by 3.2%);
- cotton fiber - 2.2% (US$ 166.7 million, a decrease by 35.7%);
- machinery and equipment - 1.5% (US$ 117.4 million, a decrease by 31.4%);
- other items - 32.7% (US$ 2.5 billion, an increase by 0.1%).
Import items:
- machinery and equipment - 39.4% (US$ 4 billion, an increase by 47.1%);
- chemical products and products from it - 13.4% (US$ 1.4 billion, an increase by 6%);
- services - 12.4% (US$ 1.2 billion, an increase by 24.5%);
- food items - 9.6% (US$ 971.7 million, an increase by 24.6%);
- black and nonferrous metals - 9.2% (US$ 937 million, an increase by 31%);
- energy resources and oil products - 5.6% (US$ 567.4 million, an increase by 49.4%);
- other items - 10.4% (US$ 1 billion, an increase by 26.6%).
Among the CIS countries, Uzbekistan's main foreign trade partners are Russia (18.2%), Kazakhstan (9.6%), Ukraine (1.4%), Belarus (1.3%), Kyrgyzstan (1.2%) and Tajikistan (1 ,1%). In total, the CIS accounts for 34.5% of the foreign trade turnover. Among other countries, China (18.8%), Turkey (6.5%), the Republic of Korea (5.1%), Afghanistan (2.2%), Germany (2.2%), USA (1.6%), Latvia (1.5%), Iran (1%) and France (0.9%). In total, non-CIS countries account for 65.5% of the foreign trade turnover.
