Uzbekistan delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodiq Safoev held a number of meetings and negotiations during the visit to France. In particular the delegation met with the Vice President of Thales Alenia Space Eric Imbert and discussed the ways to enhance cooperation and the implementation of projects for development of Uzbekistan’s space program.

The delegation visited Thales Alenia Space production facilities for assembling space satellites.

The French company highly appreciated the measures undertaken by the Uzbek government aimed at facilitating the development of space science and establishing international cooperation in this field.

The parties expressed interest in joint implementation of projects on integrated space systems, including setting up of a technological base in Uzbekistan for training of local personnel.

The French multinational company Thales International designs and builds electrical systems and provides services for the aerospace, defence, transportation and security markets, with offices in 56 countries. The total number of employees is 64 thousand people and the annual turnover is at 16 billion euros. In 2017 the company spent 813 million euros for R&D. The company has a representative office in Uzbekistan.
