President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to Fundamentally Improve Uzbekistan’s Civil Aviation Decree, Uzbekistan Airways said.

Today the Prime Minister Aripov visited the company and chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of the decree.

The document provides for the reorganization of Uzbekistan Airways (officially - O'zbekiston Havo Yo'llari National Aircompany) and setting up in its place of two separate JSCs - Uzbekistan Airways and Uzbekistan Airports (for airport management).

State owned enterprises that are part of the airline will be transformed into limited liability companies. This applies, inter alia, to the aircraft maintenance and repair unit - Uzbekistan Airways Technics.

UZAironavigation Center will be transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers, with Uzbekistan Helicopters LLC to be established in place of Special Aviation Works Aviation Company.

The decree also provides for the strengthening of state regulation and creation of a competitive environment in the aviation industry by transferring to Gosavianadzor of powers for issuing permits for one-time flights and building facilities near airfields, as well as improving the structure and increasing the staffing level of Gosavianadzor.
