Ahead of the official visit to Germany of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbek companies signed a number of strategic partnership agreements with Siemens for implementing energy and industry projects. In particular:

Uzbekneftegaz and Siemens signed an accord of intention to establish cooperation for the implementation of technological processes digitalization projects for hydrocarbons production. In particular, the Smart Well, Digital Field, Digital Terminal/Oil Depot, Center for Monitoring and Diagnostics digital solutions. Siemens technologies, solutions and international experience in the field of digitalization will be studied in the framework of the partnership.

Uzbekenergo and Siemens signed Memorandum on modernization of generating facilities. The document implies cooperation for modernization of the Syrdarya and the Yangi-Angren TPPs. Siemens proposes solutions that will significantly increase the efficiency of these power plants.

Chirchik Transformer Plant and Siemens signed a contract for the supply of high-voltage bushings for 110 kV transformers.

The said deals are a new step in the implementation of the large-scale cooperation program “Initiative for Uzbekistan” with Siemens announced in 2017. Then, the deals were signed on technology partnership in the oil and gas, energy, “smart cities” (digitalization of urban infrastructure) and healthcare sectors.

Siemens considers Uzbekistan as one of the promising markets in Central Asia and is ready to assist in the implementation of the country's ambitious plans to modernize the economy.

“Over the past year, we have made significant progress with our partners in all areas and expect to start implementing the joint projects in the near future,” said Alexander Liberov, the President of Siemens in Russia and Central Asia.
