In 2018, the share of cotton fiber in total exports (1.6%) decreased considerably compared to the last year, the Statistics Committee said in a report.
115.6 thousand tons of cotton fiber were reportedly exported totaling worth US $ 222.1 million.
Analysis of the trend of cotton fiber exports shows that in 2015 the share of cotton fiber in exports was at 5.9%, with 503.8 thousand tons exported. While, 416 thousand tons of cotton fiber were exported in 2016 and 278.9 thousand tons, or 3.8% in 2017.
The main buyers of the Uzbek cotton in 2018 were Iran, China, Bangladesh, Turkey, Russia, Latvia and Hong Kong.
