Tashkent city mayor's office has plans to contribute US$ 2.7 billion for the 2019 investment program, the deputy mayor Sharof Rakhmanov announced at a press briefing.

“The President has set a huge and ambitious program, which provides for the implementation of US$ 2.7 billion worth of 273 projects. For comparison in 2018 the program stood at US$ 420 million,” he said.

According to him, in the best years, the value of the investment program reached US$ 100 million. This year, the bulk of injections will go to the services sector and for setting up of production facilities, while about 30% - for construction, he added.

“We will build not only houses, but first of all -social facilities, hotels, kindergartens and clinics. This year we plan to build 64 hotels, about 50 kindergartens, 40 private clinics,” he said.

According to the mayor’s office, this year due to the growth of the Tashkent industrial output, it is planned to collect 19.8 trillion soums in taxes to the city budget, of which 3.6 trillion will be spent for the capital city.

In particular, it is planned to contribute 150 billion soums to repair the capital’s internal roads, while in 2018 three times less money was spent for these purposes.
