On 27-28 December in Dushanbe was held the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The Uzbek delegation was earlier received by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who conveyed a message to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev inviting him to pay an official visit to Tajikistan at convenient time for him.

The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was chaired by the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister, Rustam Azimov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Davlatali Said.

Both sides have great plans to further develop fruitful cooperation, implement joint projects and advance cultural and international dialogue.

The meeting of the Commission took place in a creative atmosphere, in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding. The meeting discussed a wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the basic parameters of cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, transport, industry, culture, education, sports and health care.

The sides discussed the basic principles and approaches to increase trade-economic turnover.

It was agreed to hold the next meeting of the commission in Tashkent in 2017.
