The volume of money remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan in the first year-half surpassed US$ 2 billion, US$ 200 million more to the last year, the Central Bank of Russia said in a report.

Uzbekistan is in top spot among the CIS countries in terms of remittances from Russia, just like in the past year, with Tajikistan in distant second at US$ 1.1. Kyrgyzstan ranked third on US$ 935 million. While, Kazakhstan is in sixth place, with US$ 268 million.

The average transfer to Uzbekistan is also the highest among the CIS countries - at US$ 372 in Q2 (US$ 349 in Q1 and US$ 375 in Q2 of 2018). Significantly lower were the average transfer amounts to Tajikistan - US$ 150, Kyrgyzstan - US$ 185 and Kazakhstan - US$ 138.
