The Uzbekistan Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and the Ministries of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan, as well as the National Police Agency of Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the Ministry of Labor said.
The Memorandum will allow hiring of Uzbek skilled workers by Japanese companies. Today, the Japanese government has accords with 9 countries on skilled labour recruitment, with Uzbekistan now becoming the tenth country listed in the Specified Skills (Tokutei Ginou) visa program.
Thus, Uzbekistan skilled workers will now be able to seek Japan jobs in 14 industries: agriculture, aviation, cleaning buildings, construction, electronics and electrical equipment, fishing, food and banqueting (restaurants), food and drink manufacturing, hospitality (hotels, etc), industrial machinery, materials industry, nursing, shipbuilding, vehicular maintenance, provided they are moderately proficient in Japanese language proficiency and have relevant work experience.
The Uzbek Agency for External Labor Migration and the Japanese Agency for Immigration Services and Registration have been assigned to oversee the regulation of the process.
