Rosatom considers it possible to enter into the nuclear power plant deal with Uzbekistan in June 2020, to make it to coincide with the Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Russia, the head of Rosatom State Corporation, Alexei Likhachev reportedly told on the sidelines of the forum of cities of nuclear industry.

“The delegations of the two countries are working on the draft of the large EPC contract. We proceed from the fact that Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Russian Federation in June. And the Uzbek officials are suggesting to sign the deal during the visit in June,” TASS quoted Likhachev as saying.

“We deem this attainable and, and we will do everything possible to achieve it,” he added. According to him, by now "there is only a countable number of unagreed matters."

Earlier, the Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister, Ilkhom Nematov said that the parties would try to finalize all the contract terms of the nuclear power plant before the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Russian Federation in June.
