The construction of a new hydroelectric power station in the Sardoba reservoir has commenced in Uzbekistan. The 21.3 million-euro project is scheduled for 2020-2022 and will be financed through the direct loans from RosEximBank (Russia).

As part of the project, negotiations were held with the Russian company Power Machines, which was assigned as the main contractor. A 19.2 million-euro deal has already been signed. Uzbekhydroenergo will also contribute EUR 3.7 million to the financing of the project.

The design capacity of the hydroelectric station will be 10.7 MW, which will two hydroelectric units, with 5.35 MW capacity each and an annual production capacity of 41.1 million kW/h.
