President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Friday familiarized with the project of construction of Tashkent Metallurgical Plant in Tashkent's Sergeli district, UzA reported.
The plant with 278.2 million euro project cost is owned by Quality Trade Supplies L.P., a UK company.
Construction works are planned to be completed in 2019. The equipment to the plant will be supplied from Italy, Germany and Austria.
The plant will produce metal sheets for car bodies, household appliances, metal tile roofing and corrugated board. The commissioning of the plant, with the annual 500 thousand tons of metal products manufacture capacity, will create over 1000 jobs.
Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov and specialized professional colleges are expected to supply talents to the plant.
