Uzbekistan has abolished the 40% excise duty on imports of trucks manufactured in Belarus. This has been provided for by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's Feb. 8 Decree.

The decision applies to new trucks (HS Code 8701 20101, 8704 22910, 8704 22910 3, 8704 22910 9, 8704 22 32 910), as well as other carriage motor vehicles (8704 90 00), produced in Belarus.

The decres has been adopted "in order to further expand trade and economic relations with the Republic of Belarus". Prior to that, this exemption had applied only to vehicles manufactured and imported from Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.

In October 2016 following the meeting of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko in Samarkand it was agreed to supply to Uzbekistan of 120 large-capacity BelAZ dump trucks in the next four years. Currently in the country there are about 500 BelAZ trucks of different classes.
