Roodell has announced plans to launch assembly of KIA Seltos and K5 - at the ADM-Jizzakh plant in the Jizzakh free economic zone, the company said in a statement.
In November, the plant will launch assembling of KIA K5 and KIA Seltos compact crossover.
The plant will become multi-brand in the future, the production of cars of a number of other world brands will be set up here. Uzbekistan manufactured cars will also be marketed to the CIS countries through partner dealer networks.
“For the Uzbek market, the launch of a completely new private car production is not just a commercial event, but the result of ongoing economic reforms and the creation of new conditions for both investors and end consumers. We can say with confidence that a new milestone in automotive history has been laid in the country- noted Daniyar Davletiyarov, the General Director of Roodell.
At present, the final stage of construction of a plant in the Jizzak FEZ is underway, and preparatory work is underway for the installation of two production lines designed for the assembly of various configurations cars.
At the first stage, the plant's production capacity will be 25 thousand cars a year. At the second stage, by the end of 2022, as the lines with welding and body painting shops will be commissioned operation, with the capacity to reach 100 thousand.
