Masdar (UAE) has commenced the construction of a photovoltaic plant in Karmana district of Navoi province, the Ministry of Energy said.
The 100 MW PV plant project is being implemented under the public-private partnership terms. The project completion is scheduled in October 2021. It will be the first industrial-scale power plant based on renewable energy sources (RES) in Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan has plans to build PV power plants with a total capacity of 5 thousand MW in the country within ten years.
By the end of 2021, it is planned to commission two 100 MW PV power plants in Uzbekistan.
