A delegation of businesses and farmers of Namangan province visited Italy, Jahon News agency reported. During the visit, the delegation familiarized with the experience of the Italian partners.
The Uzbek delegation also visited several enterprises to get familiar with their practice of storage, sorting, processing and packaging of agriculture products.
The delegation also held talks with representatives of the Confederation of Italian producers and private enterprises, Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerc and Zanotti.
Following the talks, the Uzbek and Italian businesses signed five accords on supply and assembly of cold equipment in Namangan province with capacity to process 4,000 tons of fruits, vegetables, meat and milk products a year.
The drafts of another five documents were prepared for signing after approval. These documents provide for the purchase of equipment for processing and storing of 10,000 tons of products.
Namangan branch of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of cooperation with Italian partners, which envisages assistance to farmers and business entities to purchase agri-industrial technologies, hold B2B meetings, exhibitions and business forums in Italy.
The Uzbek delegation also reached an agreement with Zanotti on organization of training courses for Uzbek entrepreneurs in Namangan.
