President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the project of expanding of Navoi TPP. The construction of the second 450 MW capacity combined cycle plant will ensure the uninterrupted power supply to Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex, NavoiAzot and the consumers in the agricultural sector.
Upon project completion, the fuel consumption will decrease, resulting in savings of an average of 330 million cub. m. of natural gas per year.
At present, the uninterrupted power supply is important for implementation of large-scale social and economic projects in the province, the Head of State underscored.
In October 2016, a contract for the implementation of this project was signed between the Japanese consortium including Mitsubishi Corporation and MHPS and Navoi TPP. At present, the consortium is performing preparatory work on the construction site.
