Shavkat Mirziyoyev has appointed Azim Ahmedkhadzhayev as the chairman of the newly created Committee for Investments, a source in the government and the Central Bank said.

Azim Ahmedkhadjayev (born in 1979) is a graduate of the Tashkent Economic University (2002). Since May last year, he was the chairman of the board of Asaka Bank. Prior to this, since May 2011 he had worked as the Deputy Chairman of the Board and later as First Deputy Chairman of the Board of NBU.

Earlier, since January 2009 he had served as the chairman of the NBU Invest Group. In previous years he worked in the Ministry of Economy and in Uzbekistan’s Reconstruction and Development Fund.
