Several large investment projects are to be implemented as per the President’s Approval of Uzbekistan’s investment program for 2022-2026 and the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects Decree.

In particular, it is planned to build and commission two combined-cycle plants with a total capacity of 900 MW at Talimarjan TPP, two combined-cycle plants with a total capacity of 1,300 MW at the Navoi TPP, and two gas turbine units with a total capacity of 32 MW each (64 MW in total).

Commissioning schedule for the new facilities:

- next two combined cycle plants at the Talimarjan TPP with a total capacity of at least 900 MW in 2024;

- commissioning of two combined cycle plants with a capacity of 650 MW each at the third and fourth stages at the Navoi TPP in 2024-2025;

- two gas turbines with a capacity of 32 MW each in the Tashkent TPP in 2023.

The commissioning of these facilities will add additional 2,264 MW capacity to the energy system, with 18.0 billion kWh of electricity to be generated annually.

Due to the high efficiency of the units, 2.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be saved in 1 year.
