The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his Djizzakh province trip, visited Pakhtakor district, where he got acquainted with promising textile, clothing, leather, footwear and agriculture projects.

In 2017-2018, a number of promising textile projects will be implemented in the province, in particular, at Elegance Tex, Pakhtakor Gold Tex, Forish Gold Tex, Zomin Textiles, Zarbdor Textiles, it is planned to implement a number of projects totaling US$ 111 million and create 2,890 jobs.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of each created job, using modern building materials in the construction of facilities and their speedy commissioning.

UzbekOziqOvqatHolding (transl. Uzbek Food Industry Holding) is establishing an agro-logistical center at Jizzakh Free Economic Zone, which will process, store and pack agricultural products for exports, build greenhouses. The enterprise is connected to gas, water and electricity networks, has access to railway network.

The Center will use high-end equipment from Italy. The project foresees the construction of several warehouses for fruits, vegetables and grain crops with 2 thous. ton capacity each, a facility for processing 3,000 tons of fruits and vegetables, a greenhouse on four hectares,  with a total of 150 people to be employed.

Bonu Shirinliklari confectionery in Jizzakh city presented a project for the production of confectioneries and chocolate. The enterprise, which employs 140 people, will set up production lines for export-oriented confectionery products. The total project cost is 14 billion soums, including Xalq Bank’s 9.8 billion soum loan, with additional 150 jobs created.

“Innovation is important for modernization of our economy,” - Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. “Today, the demand for Made in Uzbekistan products is growing in the world. This is the evidence of a growing economy. These projects will not only bring an economic impact, but will also be important in enhancing Uzbekistan’s export potential.
