Turkey's Cengiz Enerji company is completing the construction of a new 220 MW gas-piston thermal power plant in Havas district of Sirdarya province. The construction and assembly works have been completed at the facility, and adjustment and commissioning are being performed.

On October 9, the first gas-piston units of the power plant were successfully tested.

In two weeks, the plant will be connected to the Uzbekistan’s electricity grid and will begin power transmission.

The plant has the capacity to produce 1.7 billion kWh of electricity annually.

Earlier on March 29 of this year, as part of the President of Turkey to Uzbekistan, the plant’s construction project launch ceremony was held in Syrdarya province.
