A group of Ukrainian children landed in Tashkent on the eve of Eid al-Adha for recreation and rehabilitation at the invitation of the Uzbek side. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The children came from the provinces of Ukraine affected by the hostilities, in particular from Kharkiv, Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporijiya, Sumy, Khmelnitsky, Lviv and Kyiv.

For 12 days, they will undergo a program of recreation and psychological rehabilitation. "The goal of the humanitarian mission, organized at the invitation and with the support of the Uzbek side in response to the request of the Ukrainian Embassy, is to help the children restore their peace of mind and take a break from daily air raids and shelling," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The children and their companions were solemnly greeted at the Tashkent International Airport, after which they went to a health camp in the foothills of the Tien Shan.

"The program of the children's stay in the camp is extremely packed," the embassy noted. — Each day is dedicated to a specific topic — from the Day of National Values to the Day of Sports and Health, with creative competitions and excursions."

Almost all relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan are involved in the program, the diplomatic mission emphasized. This, as noted in the message, emphasizes the deep interest of the Uzbek side in providing comprehensive assistance and support to Ukrainian children in this difficult time.

Uzbekistan previously hosted children from Ukraine. In 2023, a group of 45 children vacationed in a camp in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent province. The humanitarian mission was then organized with the support of Uzbek businesses and public organizations.
