A young man and woman who were due to be married died of carbon monoxide poisoning inside a car in the city of Angren, Tashkent province. Their bodies were found in a Chevrolet Gentra parked in a garage, the Millar program said in a report.
According to the report, at 11:53 p.m. on July 16, a woman living in Angren called the duty unit of the Tashkent Province Police Department to report that her younger sister, 26, and the sister's fiancé, 31, had left home in a Gentra and never returned.
During the search operation that followed, the bodies of the young man and woman were found inside the car, which was parked in a garage. They showed signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to preliminary findings from the forensic medical examination, the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning, which led to swelling of the brain and lungs and acute cardiovascular failure.
A representative of the local mahalla (neighborhood community) said the couple's wedding had been scheduled for those very days.
"The young man's parents were teachers, an educated family. We never heard of any conflict or problems in the family. Just as they were preparing for the wedding, everything turned to mourning," the representative said.
The Angren city prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the case.
In March, it was reported that three members of a single family died of carbon monoxide poisoning in the Ortachirchiq district of Tashkent province.
