President Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended a congratulatory message on the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces and the Motherland's Defenders Day, January 14.

On this day, the country congratulates all those who have dedicated their lives to the defense of the Motherland, the message said.

Thanks to your determination and courage, devotion to your homeland, peace and tranquility of our people are ensured, the defense capabilities of the country is being enhanced, the combat effectiveness of the national army is being raised, the president emphasized.

The reforms in recent years are contributing to the Uzbek Armed Forces becoming in fact the true guarantor of the independence, the inviolability of its borders, and the peaceful and calm life of the people.

All types of troops are now being equipped with modern weapons. The combat and moral-psychological training of military personnel is being constantly improved. The national army is becoming a school of courage and glory for our youth.

At the same time, we all understand that in the current extremely difficult situation, when various challenges and threats, armed conflicts and confrontations are intensifying all over the world, it is more important than ever to enhance the combat potential of our Armed Forces, the physical and moral training of military personnel.

We will continue to equip the Armed Forces with new, modernized fire systems and equipment, taking into account the specifics of the theater of military operations, priority areas for the development of troops. We will focus on increasing the intellectual potential of military personnel, patriotic education of young people, improving the quality of primary military education in schools, and strengthening the work to prepare students for military service.

In general, today all of us, regardless of our field of activity or status, must be defenders of the Motherland. Time itself is requiring this from us, this is what our people expect from us."

In conclusion, the president wished the defenders of the Motherland new achievements in fulfilling their official duty, good health, peace and well-being to their families.
