Delivery reception ceremony of 202 new Yutong electric buses from China took place at Tashshahartranskhizmat’s headquarters Monday.

The buses were ordered in a move to develop the Tashkent public transport system and introduce ecofriendly and energy-efficient vehicles. The ceremony featured a symbolic key hand-over for 202 Yutong e-buses was to the chief of Tashshahartranskhizmat.

Today, the company operates 1,556 buses per day on 163 bus routes, of which 92 are connecting, 14 are ring, 11 are main, and 46 are feeder routes. Their average wait time is 10-12 minutes, and the number of daily bus one-way journeys stands at 22,318.

In Q2 of 2025, the daily passenger journeys in Tashkent reached 1.4 million people, and the volume of service increased by 27%.

Also, the total length of routes was expanded from 2,945 km to 2,990.8 km, which allowed the average speed of public transport to increase from 18 km/h to 21 km/h.

The share of the company’s eco-friendly transport will increase significantly due to the purchase of 202 electric buses and 100 charging equipment for them in 2025.

In line with the development strategy 2030, the company’s is set to purchase a total of 1,200 electric buses, bringing its ratio in total fleet from 50% to 63%.
