The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov visited the National Museum of India in New Delhi on Monday, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The museum has over 200 thousand works of art both of Indian and foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years. Its Central Asian gallery includes items mainly from the Baburids era.
The National Museum agreed to hand over to Uzbekistan the copies of Diwan-i-Babur, a manuscript by Zakhriddin Muhammad Babur, which dates back to 1528 and which contains Babur’s rubai and miniatures of The Wedding Procession of Prince Dara Shikokh of 1640.
The Director-General of the National Museum of India, Budha Rashmi Mani officially presented the copies to the Uzbek delegation to be handed over to the Uzbekistan Museum of History.
