The State Statistics Committee has released new data on the number of foreign-invested companies in the country. Reportedly, as of August 1, 2026, a total of 20,973 foreign-invested enterprises were operating in Uzbekistan. Of these, 4,685 are joint ventures and 16,288 are wholly foreign-owned companies.

The CEO of AKFA Holding, former Tashkent mayor Jahongir Ortikhudjaev has proposed involving private companies in constructing government ministry and agency buildings in New Tashkent, using private capital and loans, with the government then leasing the buildings back on a long-term basis.
