The Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution approving the sale of the state’s share in in Uzbekistan Hotel. Currently, the state owns 80.13% in the joint venture LLC Otel O'zbekiston, which manages the hotel.
The state’s share, which is on the balance sheet of the Competition Committee, will be put up for public auction within two months, with the starting price not yet disclosed.
The new owners will have to commit themselves to modernization and, if necessary, reconstruction of the hotel. The maximum deadline of payment is 3 years.
Uzbekistan Hotel is a hotel in the downtown Tashkent, built in 1974. The 223-room four-star hotel is still one of the landmark hotels in Tashkent.
