Experts from the Uchtepa District Branch of the Tashkent City Department of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee recently conducted a routine sanitary inspection at the Farhod Farmers' Market. Staff from the Veterinary-Sanitary Laboratory also participated in the joint operation.

During the inspection, samples of melons and gourds on sale at the market were collected and sent for laboratory analysis. The testing revealed that 21 kilograms of melons contained nitrate levels that significantly exceeded current food safety and hygienic standards.

In response to these findings, immediate measures were taken in accordance with sanitary regulations. The contaminated produce, which posed a potential threat to consumer health, was promptly removed from sale and confiscated for disposal.

Additionally, inspectors carried out awareness-raising discussions with vendors and business owners, emphasizing the critical importance of strictly adhering to food safety requirements.
