A road rage dispute erupted between the drivers of a Cobalt and a Nexia-3 in Tashkent's Yashnabad district, Kun.uz said. In a video footage that quickly went viral online, one of the drivers can be seen attacking the other with a long stick. The incident took place on June 12 on Mahtumkuli Street.
According to the Tashkent Police Department, D.D., 34, the driver of the Cobalt, and Sh.A. (born in 1998), the driver of the Nexia-3, got into a heated altercation after fighting over the right of way.
"They got out of their vehicles and, showing a deliberate disregard for the rules of public conduct, disrupted public order by engaging in a physical fight right in the middle of the roadway," the official statement reads.
Following the incident, administrative citations for petty hooliganism were drawn up against both drivers, and the cases have been forwarded to the court.
