Yesterday, on June 28, nearly 50 people were left stranded mid-air on an amusement park ride at Dream Park (formerly Gafur Gulyam Park) in Tashkent. The incident was reportedly triggered by widespread power outages affecting several areas across the capital.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, all individuals trapped on the ride in the Chilanzar district have been successfully rescued.
"Rescue squads immediately arrived at the scene. All persons who were stranded on the attraction were safely brought down to the ground," the ministry stated in an official announcement.
The ministry's press service confirmed that no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident.
Earlier last night, at 20:45, a technical malfunction at the Yuksak substation caused a major power failure across the Mirobod, Chilanzar, Yakkasaray, and Uchtepa districts of Tashkent. Power disruptions were also noted in parts of the Zangiata district in the surrounding Tashkent province.
Shortly after the blackout, energy authorities reported that electricity was being progressively restored to consumers in the Chilanzar and Uchtepa districts via the Ozodlik substation.
