A minor girl was gang-raped by four young men in Yakkabog district of Kashkadaryo province. Shokhrukh Giyosov, the press secretary for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, confirmed the incident in response to an inquiry from the advocacy group Nemolchi.uz.

According to official reports, on June 7, 2026, four individuals aged 23, 22, 21, and 20 forced a 14-year-old girl into a Damas minivan, drove her to a field, and assaulted her. An investigative and operational team from the Yakkabog District Police Department processed the crime scene, seizing material evidence critical to the case. Forensic medical, biological, and psychological examinations have also been ordered.

A criminal case was initially opened on June 8 under Part 1 of Article 128 of the Criminal Code (Intercourse with a person under the age of 16). However, on June 29, the charges were upgraded to Paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code (Rape of a minor involving force, threats, or exploiting the victim's helpless state). The suspects - identified as Sh.Kh., D.Kh., O.N., and D.A. - were formally charged under this upgraded statute and placed in procedural detention.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that its Investigation Department has taken direct oversight of the case. The Children's Ombudsman is also monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, the National Agency for Social Protection reported that psychological support has been extended to the minor girl, and legal services are being provided to her mother.
