Between January and June 2026, the number of foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan for tourism purposes exceeded 6.5 million, the National Statistics Committee said in a report.

During the first six months of this year, a total of 6,565,410 tourists arrived in the country. This represents an increase of 1.3 million visitors—or 24.9%—compared to the same period in 2025.

Citizens from neighboring republics continue to completely dominate tourist arrivals. The top three countries sending the highest numbers of travelers to Uzbekistan are:

  1. Kyrgyzstan — 1,875,332
  2. Kazakhstan — 1,553,688
  3. Tajikistan — 1,471,670

During this same period, Uzbekistan also welcomed 585,558 tourists from Russia, 238,925 from Afghanistan, 223,479 from China, 164,211 from Turkmenistan, 95,466 from Turkey, 26,450 from India, and 22,294 from Germany.

Earlier reports indicated that Uzbekistan's tourism exports reached $1.1 billion within just a single three-month window. In Samarkand alone, tourism revenues hit $606 million over the course of last year.
