A criminal case has been launched in Samarkand after three men brutally beat a local resident, the press service of the Provincial Police Department reported.
Officials stated that the incident occurred on July 23 at around 8:10 PM. A dispute escalated into a physical fight between 35-year-old Samarkand resident J.G. and his 52-year-old neighbor, U.A. The altercation turned severe when U.A.’s 27-year-old son and two of his acquaintances intervened, repeatedly striking and kicking J.G. across his body and inflicting multiple injuries.
Footage capturing the assault quickly spread across social media networks.
A preliminary investigation was launched the very same day. The Investigation Department under the Samarkand City Police Department opened a criminal case under Article 277, Part 2, clause "b" of the Criminal Code, which covers Criminal damage committed by a group of individuals. Pre-trial proceedings are currently underway. Under this article, those found guilty face 300 to 360 hours of mandatory community service, one to three years of house arrest, or up to three years in prison.
