During the first half of 2026 (January–June), inbound remittances to Uzbekistan through international money transfer systems reached $9.3 billion. This represents a 13% increase compared to the same period in 2025 and a substantial 44% surge compared to the first half of 2024.

While $9.3 billion in foreign currency entered the country via international remittances between January and June 2026, outflows stood at $1.3 billion, resulting in a positive net balance of $8 billion, the Central Bank noted in its domestic foreign exchange market review.

Meanwhile, outbound financial transfers from Uzbekistan to other countries totaled $1.33 billion. This reflects an 8.1% uptick from the previous year ($1.23 billion) and a 5.9% increase compared to the figures recorded in the first half of 2024 ($1.25 billion).

Between 2020 and 2025, the total volume of remittances sent to Uzbekistan tripled, driving their overall share in the nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) up from 8.6% to 12.8%.
