The Road Traffic Safety Unit of the Tashkent City Police Department has responded to a video footage circulating on social media.
The footage shows the driver of a Chevrolet Lacetti failing to yield to a pedestrian.
After reviewing the incident, traffic police drew up an administrative violation sheet against the driver under the relevant article of the Administrative Liability Code. The driver was also given a preventive talk by officers.
The department urged drivers to slow down when approaching unregulated pedestrian crossings, stop to let pedestrians cross, and only proceed once they have safely reached the other side.
